Vanessa is an award winning South African born chef with diverse experience and trained at the prestigious Institute of Culinary Arts (ICA) in Stellenbosch. She went on to win the Eat Out Rising Star award, as well as appearing as guest judge on Master Chef South Africa and My Kitchen Rules, before relocating to London.

Vanessa prides herself with a sustainable and ethical approach to food, the philosophy that she brings to the table is one of using local and seasonal produce, as well as creating dishes that speak to the seasons while emphasising a zero waste ethos.

The Riverhouse menu highlights wild and foraged ingredients, as well as some of our very own garden-grown botanicals.

Vanessa says, “Food is a powerful story. The plate tells a story of a place, a season, of people. It has the power of connection.”
